A Warm November Afternoon in Grubbenvorst

A beautiful Friday afternoon with sunshine and blue skies leads us toward Grubbenvorst. November — and yet the dashboard reads 17 degrees. We are welcomed warmly by five barking fluffballs, and before long we’re seated at the coffee table with Leanne and Ricardo, overlooking the racing lofts.

The legendary trophy cabinet of the world-renowned Van de Pasch colony speaks for itself: no fewer than 19 Olympiad pigeons, 8× Best Fancier of the Netherlands, and at least 75 National Ace Pigeons. More coffee, anyone?

At the end of last year, the loft in northern Limburg made the switch to Matador mixes and several Backs minerals. Throughout the year, Superrui was used during the molt, Superkweek during the breeding season, and the classy team of widowhood hens was managed with Start, Athletic, and Turbo Extreme. The young birds began on the Jong Hot mix, while the breeders and racers could pick from Ocean Gold and Vispumin minerals.

The 2025 season was crowned with, among others, the 1st National Ace Pigeon Sprint, 2nd National Ace Pigeon Sprint, and the 1st Olympiad Pigeon Middle Distance — more jewels on an already richly decorated crown.
