Season underway: Alfa 1 is finding its way into the lofts

In recent weeks, we have seen that many pigeon fanciers have already incorporated our new Alfa 1 mixture into their system. Thank you for your trust, and we naturally wish everyone a lot of success and enjoyment with this new development and modernization of the sport.

This mixture has been developed over the past two seasons and tested on top lofts, but of course also with fanciers who are not yet at the very top. Adjustments were made until it worked exactly as we envisioned: muscle recovery, intestinal cleansing, and immune system support. Feeding for two days is sufficient, after which the pigeons are ready for the new week by the end of the second day.

In practice, Alfa 1 is mainly used immediately after returning home, for example on Saturday and Sunday. After that, it can easily be switched to the build-up feeding towards the next basketing with the regular mixtures. Alfa 1 therefore fits seamlessly into almost any feeding system.

The new Alfa 1 is, as you will understand, a further step following the successfully introduced Detox mixture. This was designed to cleanse pigeons during transition periods. However, Alfa 1 goes a step further: it is not only focused on cleansing, but especially on active recovery and quickly restoring balance in the body after exertion.

Over the years, this mixture has grown significantly in popularity, as several Belgian and Dutch top lofts started using the Detox mixture on the day after returning home, with very good results. As is often the case with successful products, various other Detox mixtures have since appeared on the market. However, the same name does not necessarily mean the same effect. It is like putting a Ferrari sticker on a Fiat—it still remains a Fiat.

What does the fancier notice in practice? Pigeons recover faster, resume training more quickly, show better droppings, and generally look and feel fresher. Exactly what you want to see in the first days after a race.

“Another bag of feed again, is that really necessary?” you might ask. But what is actually against it? In the end, the total amount of feed remains the same, and possibly even less, because feed uptake is significantly better. You probably also eat a varied diet during the week—and what about elite athletes? The choice is entirely yours: simplicity or more control options—the fancier decides.

You will likely also start feeding this mixture to young birds later this year. This is the ideal period to get the youngsters used to it on Saturdays, including ingredients such as milk thistle seed and perilla seed, which sometimes require some adaptation. If you ever deal with coli in your young birds, you can also safely use this mixture; it has already been tested and approved.

In short: a practical and well-thought-out addition to any feeding system, focused on fast recovery and an optimal start to the new week. Try it yourself and experience the difference.
